History

Parra Oppidum Orobiorum (the Latin name of Parre) is a small town rich in history, an emblematic site of the Alps, whose origins trace back to the Bronze Age; Parre is the cradle of noble families and popular traditions.

Small jewels of sacred arts - heirs of the popular devotion - are enshrined in Parre’s places of worship, from the majestic parish church to the picturesque church of Mount Alino.

Thanks to the culinary secrets handed down from generation to generation, Parre offers tourists several typical dishes, heirs of the rural tradition and now at the center of renowned folk festivals.
