is a volunteering association founded on 23 February 1967 as a natural evolution from its forefather Pro Parre, born in the first post-war years. Talking about tourism in Parre means taking a step back in time. Today, Pro Loco Parre is one of the youngest, most creative and active associations on the whole territory of Bergamo.
The most famous event is undoubtedly the Scarpinòcc Festival (Sagra deli Scarpinòcc) organized annually since 1965. Initially, it took place in the mid-August week on the football pitch of our parish youth centre. Fun fact: in the first edition, 1,200 Scarpinòcc were prepared, today more than 140,000 Scarpinòcc are served in just three days.
In 1987, the culinary festival was postponed to the third week of August to commemorate Luigi Piccinali, Parre’s former mayor as well as founder of our association. Since the 90s, it has been held under a tensile structure until 2014 when the new Pala Don Bosco was built with stable and modern kitchens and equipment.
Pro Loco Parre organizes not only the Scarpinòcc Festival but also other events dedicated to the young, such as Spritz Summer Party, Winter Rock festival and Parbacco; events dedicated to our traditions like Sapori e Tradizioni and the newborn Gnòch in Còla Festival (Sagra deli Gnòch in Còla); cultural and sport events together with several courses organized throughout the year.
The head office of Pro Loco Parre is located in the tourist office in Piazza San Rocco (St. Roch square) in Parre Sotto.
